Our hints and tips blogs appear to be quite popular, so this week I have put together some Windows shortcut key combinations. You may have used some of them previously, though I hope that there are some new ones for you to discover.
F1: Help: brings up the Windows Help and Support menu, allowing you to search online
CTRL+ESC: opens the Start menu
ALT+TAB: switches between open programs
ALT+F4: quit program
Windows Logo+L: Locks the computer, the same as using CTRL+ALT+DELETE
SHIFT+right click: Displays a shortcut menu containing alternative commands
SHIFT+DELETE: Deletes an item immediately without placing it in the Recycle Bin
CTRL+ESC: Opens the Start menu, you can use the arrow keys to select an item
CTRL+SHIFT+ESC: Opens Windows Task Manager
ALT+F4: Closes the current window
To copy a file: Press and hold down the CTRL key while you drag the file to another folder.
To create a shortcut: Press and hold down CTRL+SHIFT while you drag a file to the desktop or a folder.

SHIFT+Windows Logo+M: Undo minimize all
Windows Logo+E: Windows Explorer
Windows Logo+F: Find files or folders
