Networking adventures, part two

Networking

It’s been a little while since I wrote my first networking adventures blog, here comes part two……………

In December 2015, I met the wonderful Heather Waring, founder of Waring Well.  Heather is a coach who combines walking with her coaching practice to inspire women, helping them to find the space they need.  Initially I met Heather to discuss public speaking, however our conversation took an unexpected turn when she told me she was looking for a VA.  The meeting quickly turned into a getting to know each other session for both of us and I am pleased to say we are now working together.

Heather has launched two new walking packages to Waring Well’s portfolio this year.  Firstly, the Walk 2016 Challenge, where you commit to, originally one of two, now three, walking distances – 1,000, 1,500 or 2,000 miles in a year.  I signed up for this challenge in February and have found I am adding to my daily steps, setting myself small goals and challenges to increase my daily and weekly step target.  I am aiming for 1,500 miles now, after starting off with 1,000 miles, which I thought I would be unlikely to achieve!  Secondly, Women Walking, Women Talking, which takes place on the first Friday of each month, a great opportunity to take some time for yourself and meet other like-minded women, plus possibly doing business in a different way – Netwalking!

I have attended several of the walks and have enjoyed them all.  On the May walk, I met the delightful Nicky Kentisbeer, who writes a life-style blog called Notjustthe3ofus.  Nicky was brilliant at sharing her blogging hints and tips and has inspired my thinking when blogging, as sometimes I find it tricky to think of a topic.  She has also offered to guest blog for us in the future, so watch this space.

Networking has been of real benefit to Holly and I, we do recommend exploring and finding a group or two that works for you.  I have some more groups to mention and will follow up in few weeks with part three.

P.S. The next Women Walking, Women Talking event will be on Friday 1 July, come along if you can.
